About Ann Nunziata

Ann Nunziata I am a child of the west coast of America. As a proud Californian, I embrace the diversity of our climate and our people. As a community, we have a strong attachment to the land and culture of our home.

Formally trained as an electrical engineer, I believe in science. I believe in Climate Change because I have experienced it first hand. My community has been subject to increasing temperatures, extended droughts, and severe fire danger.

In these troubled times, I try to create heartwarming images that help people feel relaxed and at ease. I hope you can feel the warmth and affection that I feel for my subjects . My artwork frequently focuses on bringing vanishing wildlife and places to the awareness of others. I hope you will be inspired to contribute to conservation efforts. At the very least, your purchases help me donate annually to community resources including Napa-Solano Audubon, Marine Mammal Center, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Napa Wildlife Rescue.

I am a self-taught artist. Spare time was hard to come by as an engineer, but I spent all that I had outdoors. A tennis injury became my opportunity to pursue art formally. I became a watercolor artist because I love the way color flows and mingles transparently on the paper. The color takes my breath away. I tried many other mediums, but for me, nothing matches the flow of watercolor.

I am currently studying with Birgit O'Connor and Rick Surowicz in addition to workshops with Michael Reardon and Pamela Harnois.
